Amboseli is found around Maasai people in kajiado county and in maasai language it means place of water. This 2 days safari takes you through Southern Kenya towards the Amboseli National Park, which lies in the shadows of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Amboseli is known for its rich wildlife, particularly its prolific elephant population. Safari will be at Amboseli National Park which is Kenya’s international biosphere reserve. Lake Nakuru has earned its fame as the home of the greatest bird spectacle in the world, a myriad of often more than a million pink flamingos that flock to feed at its shallow warm alkaline waters. The lake is dubbed “pink” due to the presence of millions of greater and lesser flamingos.
Located 160km and 2½ hours drive from Nairobi, the park is home to thousands of different bird species. Covering area of 188sq km Lake Nakuru is the best place in Kenya to see the highly protected black and white rhino. Day 2
Full day in the expansive Masai Mara game reserve driving across the plains in search of the big cats (lions, Cheetahs and leopards) coupled with a picnic lunch served on the banks of the Mara River. From this picnic site, you will have the chance to view vast herds of wildebeest and zebra wandering across the Mara grasslands in huge droves during this period of the annual migrations, when millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle traverse the Mara plains landscape to feed on the rich new lush grass.
If you are lucky especially during high season (July – October) you may get a chance to witness wildebeests giving birth or a crossing at river Mara where crocodiles snatch and prey on wildebeest and zebras as they cross.
Day 3
After an early morning breakfast, you will proceed to early game drive to witness the predators when they having ‘breakfast’. Later at around 9am depart Masai Mara for Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon or evening. 4 Days Maasai Mara and Lake Nakuru
Day 1
Depart from Nairobi driving through the view point of the great rift valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains and is most famous for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and the “big five”: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino.
Arriving for lunch at the camp before departing on an afternoon game drive after brief freshmen. The Mara is one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied and easy to see. You can expect to see giraffe, buffalo, eland, impala, zebra and various species of gazelle, cheetah and off course lion family.
Day 2
Spend the full day exploring the Masai Mara on a game drive watching wild animals. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals, During your stay you may opt to visit a Maasai village to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into the Masai homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Your dinner and overnight will be at the camp.
Day 3
Enjoy an early morning game drive and then return to the camp for breakfast. You will then depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, which is located in next to Nakuru town in the great rift valley. Lake Nakuru is a home to stunning flocks of lesser and greater flamingos, which turn the lakeshores into a magnificent pink stretch. The bird life here (over 400 species) is world renowned and include white pelicans, plovers, egrets and marabou stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the white and black rhino and rare Rothschild giraffe. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 4
Wake up to an extensive early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. You will then depart for Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon in time for your evening flight back home.
